Inpatient services at Woodland View

Woodland View is Ayrshire’s mental health and community hospital.

Woodland View is a state of the art facility is in the grounds of Ayrshire Central Hospital, Irvine.

Woodland View has 13 separate ward areas, with 206 en-suite bedrooms. Our staff care for people who need support and hospital-based care due to:

  • Acute mental ill-health

  • Mental ill-health rehabilitation

  • Addiction rehabilitation

  • Low secure (detained under the Mental Health (Scotland) Act 2015)

  • Elderly mental ill-health

  • Complex healthcare needs
  • Intermediate care and rehabilitation (the step between leaving acute hospital and going home / to a homely setting)

  • Outpatient clinics and treatments

Woodland View is a community space too

  • Our volunteers welcome visitors, staff and people who use our services

  • Bramble Cafe serves snacks, coffee and cake – you’ll find it in the entrance foyer

  • The Sanctuary is on the first floor. It’s a calm, quiet place for anyone to use, to think and reflect. It’s for people of all faith groups and those with no faith group

  • Woodland View chaplain is available to speak with people 24/7 on 01294 322449

  • Our volunteer shop has some of the essentials that you might need if you have to stay in Woodland View
