Our day centres provide activities and support for people over 65 years who may feel isolated and lonely, have mobility issues and would benefit from regular social contact with others.
We can provide transport from your home to the day centre (if your assessment shows this in necassary). Transport is wheelchair and power chair accessible.
Our day services are staffed by specially trained professionals, and are open 9am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.
As well as help with personal care, we provide activities including:
- quizzes and games
- visiting entertainers
- chair exercises
- arts and crafts
- cooking lessons
- day trips
Our reminiscence sessions enourage sharing of memories. This helps to promote mental activity and maintain communication skills.
What to expect
At your first visit, your key worker will meet you. They will show you around the centre and make sure you settle in. They will be your contact for any questions.
Your key worker will prepare a personal plan with you. This will include your likes and dislikes and needs that they can help with. Your personal plan is your record of what you hope to gain from attending day services and how you are going to do this. Your personal plan will be shared with day centre staff so that they can help you achieve your goals.
If staff notice a decline in your health, or ability to perform daily tasks, then they can arrange for a review of your assessment of need and your support services adjusted accordingly.
Do I have to pay?
Day services are subject to our charging policy.
The current cost per person is £11.00 per day inclusive of transport, personal care and meals. A financial assessment will work out the amount you may have to contribute to the daily cost. We always take into account your ability to pay.
